AquaSense: Smart Water Resource Management
AquaSense is a project aimed at tackling the critical issue of water management, particularly in countries like Morocco. With the increasing occurrence of severe droughts, poor water distribution, and the impact of natural disasters, there is an urgent need for innovative solutions to manage water resources effectively.

The Problem of Water Management
Water management is becoming an increasingly pressing issue in Morocco and many other countries. Severe droughts, inefficient water distribution systems, and the effects of natural disasters exacerbate the challenge. AquaSense aims to address these problems by providing better solutions for managing water resources and ensuring water sustainability.

Added Value: A Smart Solution for Decision Makers and Communities
AquaSense offers a comprehensive approach to managing water resources by predicting future water situations and providing key data visualizations. It empowers decision-makers to plan more effectively, conserve resources, and respond to local water challenges quickly. Additionally, it engages citizens and communities in the process, fostering greater collaboration between stakeholders.

Innovation: Forecasting and Data Visualization Tools
AquaSense stands out due to its accurate water parameter forecasting and its ability to provide detailed analyses of water-related issues. Through real-time news updates, interactive data visualization charts, and a map that highlights water levels across regions, AquaSense enables users to view and upload data. It also offers a platform for reporting local water issues, promoting a transparent and collaborative approach to water management.

AI Integration: Advanced Predictive and Analytical Capabilities
AquaSense incorporates cutting-edge AI technologies, utilizing Deep Learning (DL) with LSTM models and Generative AI techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI Agents. It leverages Multivariate and multistep LSTM models to predict future water parameter levels accurately, while the RAG and AI Agents analyze the latest data, news, and documents from global sources like the UN and EPA to provide in-depth answers to water-related queries.

Technical Details
AquaSense is built using a variety of advanced technologies. It employs Tensorflow and Keras for LSTM modeling, Pandas and Numpy for data preparation and management, and Langchain as an LLM framework for RAG and AI Agents. Chroma is used as a vector database, while Nomic Embeddings (an open-source embedding) powers AI models like GPT-3.5 TURBO. AquaSense is made accessible through a user-friendly web interface built on Streamlit.

Impact: Bridging the Gap Between Citizens and Authorities
AquaSense improves water management by providing stakeholders with the tools to make informed decisions, enhancing the allocation of resources, and promoting sustainable practices. Its innovative features facilitate collaboration between citizens and authorities, ultimately reducing water crises. AquaSense aligns with several UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

The AquaSense Team
The AquaSense project is led by a dedicated team from the Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences (EMSI). Their collective expertise and innovative approach aim to make a lasting impact on water resource management in Morocco and beyond.
